Workbench projects, Halasuru
to Sat, Apr 18
Bamboo is a plant that provides considerable environmental benefits and a basic raw material with numerous traditional uses. Sturdy, aesthetically pleasing and a self-generating natural resource with the capability to muffle sound, bamboo is the perfect material to build a host of structures, including fences, houses, chairs, tables and various other types of furniture.
In spirit of using bamboo as an alternative construction material, Workbench Projects will collaborate in a Maker Weekend edition with field specialists Bamboopecker to conduct a Workshop on Making Bamboo Furniture on April 18th. In this workshop, participants will get an hour-long introduction to the unique properties and characteristics of bamboo and the different designs of furniture that can be made using this versatile material. Following this, participants will get down to the hands-on part of the session where they will make their own chairs using bamboo and take it home at the end of the workshop . This Maker Weekend is a perfect opportunity for designers and makers to experiment with bamboo and learn how to build a personalised addition for their homes!
So join us on April 18th and lets get down to some bamboo building! Click here to register: http://workbenchprojects.com/workshops/event_details/33
