Label owner, producer, remixer and DJ: there isn’t much John Dahlback hasn’t done during his decade-young career. Now, at just 28, he sits atop the global dance scene with a forthcoming album on one of the world’s leading (and largest) electronic labels Ultra and a diary that defines the term transatlantic as he jets back and forth between America, Ibiza and beyond. Rewind just on eleven years and we find John at the start of his professional journey, signing his first releases at the tender age of 17, which even by the youthfully dominated standards of the world of dance, is remarkable.
Whether it was deep house and techno for legendary imprints like Kompakt or Dessous, through to the later expansion of his style to incorporate the energy of big-room electro for the likes of Spinnin’, Protocol, Toolroom, Big Beat, Phazing and Wall there are few - if any - who can boast such a varied and impressive musical CV. However, what makes this achievement even more historic is that he also found time to establish and develop not one, but two labels all of his own.
In this burgeoning era of Dance Music in India Sahil Sharma aka Zaeden started Djing when he was 14 years old. His unique style of combining the new age Big room sounds with the classical melodic house and his eclectic production skills can clearly be heard in his first single Land of Lords (Out on JoeySuki's Dubbed Records) with the Dutch producer Syzz which was supported by the likes of Andrew Rayel, Tritonal, Jordy Dazz and many more . A major breakthrough in his career came in the year 2014 when he released his Bootleg of Coldplay’s Magic. The remix being Demo of the week on Hardwell on Air #164, played by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike on Smash the house Radio, Moguai in his Punx up the Volume was enough to take India by storm.
In November 2014 he became the first Indian to be signed on Spinnin’ Records and Music All Stars. With some big releases planned next year on these labels he is bound to make his presence felt on the global scene.
Playing alongside artists like Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Quintino, R3hab, Yves V, The Chainsmokers, Krewella, W&W, Wolfpack , DubVision and slamming international festivals like Marenostrum Music Festival in Valecia, Spain, Zaeden has conquered the Indian dance music scene and is now representing India globally.
