The art of hand block printing is an ancient Indian textile tradition that dates as far back as 2000 BC. Unlike many other dying traditions, this beautiful technique has been preserved over the years. Hand block printing is often seen on textiles and paper to create beautiful designs and patterns.
Join us for an ExperTalk and workshop on hand block printing with artist and art educator, Pooja Gokul. Pooja will talk about the origins and process of hand block printing in India, including how the blocks are made and the social symbolism of different motifs. This will be followed by a hands-on workshop where youll learn the technique of block printing on paper and cloth.
Bring your own cotton fabric, in white or a light pastel shade. It can be anything, from a T-shirt or kurti to napkins and pillow cases. All other materials will be provided.

"Stayed at the amazing Jungle Wood Resort in Coorg, literally in the middle of a Jungle. The house is a 200 year old house managed by a family who has been running this for years. The silence, peace and 'no phone service' makes you feel so connected to the nature. Highly recommended if you just wanna run away! Huge shoutout to @townista. This was my first #TownistaTrip. Brilliantly arranged and such a hassle free experience. Much recommended if you are planning your next trip."
