What we like

The stamps have been arranged aesthetically and categorized. Apart from the stamps, adequate philatelic material is available. It houses nearly 600 books and magazines, most of them devoted to philately. The Philatelic Bureau offers a host of philatelic materials like First Day Cover, Collector’s Pack (a pack of all the stamps released in one year) and miniature souvenir sheets that are issued only occasionally.

About

There are only a handful of museums that interest both the young and the old. The Philatelic Museum in Bangalore is located within the premises of the General Post Office (GPO) on Ambedkar Veedhi.

The ground floor has postal counters that sell stamps, covers, post cards and other postal paraphernalia. The museum has hundreds of stamps of different countries, denominations, sizes and periods. Almost all the stamps printed in India from 1947 are displayed.

Both the types of stamps are exhibited- the limited Commemorative stamps and Definitive stamps.

Starting from Rs 0 per person for 2 days, 1 night with cab and accommodation
