A 16th century royal citadel – Old Fort or Purana Qila – is, as the name suggests, one of the oldest forts in Delhi. Established by the Afghan king Sher Shah Suri, the sprawling fort is majestic and grand with a lake adjacent to it. The arched gateways are made of sandstone and decorated with white and coloured-marble inlays and blue tiles. The ornate jharokhas and pillared pavilions are reminiscent of both Rajasthani and Mughal designs.
What To Look Out For: Beautiful monuments – Khairul Manzil and Lal Darwaza – adorning the wide expanse of the locale
"Stayed at the amazing Jungle Wood Resort in Coorg, literally in the middle of a Jungle. The house is a 200 year old house managed by a family who has been running this for years. The silence, peace and 'no phone service' makes you feel so connected to the nature. Highly recommended if you just wanna run away! Huge shoutout to @townista. This was my first #TownistaTrip. Brilliantly arranged and such a hassle free experience. Much recommended if you are planning your next trip."
