About

Situated 60 km from the main city, the ancient hill fortress – Nandi Hills – is a treasured destination for all the nature and art lovers. The origin of the name has countless sources but the beauty that lies in these hills is spectacular. There are numerous olden temples, with Bhoga Nandeeshwara temple dating back to the 9th century. The rock-cut temple is adorned with a majestic pond and stunning stone carvings. The sunset view from the hills is a spectacle in itself and the hills are rich in birdlife as well.
What To Look Out For: For all the art history aficionados, study the ruins of Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple.
Ideal Timings: Early mornings when the environment is a bit dewy and at dusk for sunset photography

More than 300 Happy travellers

"Stayed at the amazing Jungle Wood Resort in Coorg, literally in the middle of a Jungle. The house is a 200 year old house managed by a family who has been running this for years. The silence, peace and 'no phone service' makes you feel so connected to the nature. Highly recommended if you just wanna run away! Huge shoutout to @townista. This was my first #TownistaTrip. Brilliantly arranged and such a hassle free experience. Much recommended if you are planning your next trip."
