Blue In Green

Blue In green (B.I.G) is a jazz/ latin jazz/ blues outfit formed by Prakash and Yasmin in 2003. Being old friends they bonded over their mutual love for music which bewilders and inspires them. Prakash - a sessions bassist and Yasmin - drummer for various bands are both highly accomplished and well-known musicians in the Indian music scene. With prakash’s love for the acoustic guitar and Yasmin’s natural ability to sing, in Blue In Green they found an outlet for playing what they love most in music – challenging, yet harmonious music which grows each time it’s played.

As a duo they have performed at numerous Corporate events and Clubs, sometimes collaborating with other well-known sessions musicians. The duo took a break in the year 2009 when Yasmin went to a music school in Hollywood and Prakash joined one of India’s premier bands - Thermal And A Quarter.

The duo who are now back together as a quartet, having added drummer Jeoraj and keyboardist Josh, sometimes perform with sax, strings and other instrumentalists depending on the requirements of the show at hand.

The band performs a mixture of originals and original arrangements of cover tunes which vary from Swing to Blues, Latin to Funk, Fusion, Soul and R&B music and their influences include Joni Mitchell, The Weather Report, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Tracy Chapman, Chick Corea and many, many more.
